Finished Construction Photography for AA Construction in Carmel
Kitchen and bathroom renovation photography created to help a local construction company showcase its finished work
After previously photographing active jobsites and aerial drone views for AA Construction Company, this Carmel assignment showed another important stage of construction photography: the finished result. This time my camera was focused on a completed kitchen and bathrooms, creating a collection of interior photographs that AA Construction can use to show prospective clients the quality and details of their renovation work.
From Active Job Sites to Finished Interiors
AA Construction is still one of my newer construction photography clients, but I have already had the opportunity to photograph several of their in progress job sites around the Monterey Peninsula (including this aerial drone job site). The latest shoot for AA Construction was totally different because it was a finished, completed interior renovation, no saw dust to worry about getting on the camera lens! The renovated kitchen in this Carmel home required removing a wall and adding a clear glass divide. I showcased this new open space in a few photographs before showing off the work and materials used in the kitchen itself. Two renovated bathrooms were next to get renovation photos of with a huge glass shower in one and a free standing tub in the other to highlight. Finished Project Photography for Builders and Remodelers
When a renovation is complete, there is a limited window to photograph the space exactly as the construction company delivered it. For the kitchen photographs, I wanted to show more than one attractive angle. A construction portfolio benefits from images that explain the complete space, so I moved through several viewpoints to show the relationship between the kitchen island, cabinetry, stone surfaces, vaulted ceiling, skylights, lighting, and the surrounding architecture.
The wider photographs establish the scale and layout of the renovation, while the closer perspectives bring attention to the materials and individual design choices. Together, they give AA Construction a more complete set of photographs than a single wide-angle image could provide.

Bathrooms can be deceptively challenging spaces to photograph because there is often very little room to position a camera while mirrors, glass, windows, fixtures, and multiple light sources all compete for attention. My goal is to find compositions that make the room understandable while still showing the materials and craftsmanship a construction or remodeling company wants prospective clients to notice.
For these Carmel bathrooms, that meant making wider views that showed how the different elements fit together, then moving closer for photographs emphasizing features such as the freestanding tub, showers, vanities, tile work, fixtures, cabinetry, and natural light.
Why Finished Project Photography Matters for Construction Companies
A construction company can do exceptional work and still have very little to show for it after a project is handed back to the homeowner. Phone photos taken during construction are useful for quick updates, but the completed project deserves its own intentional photography session.
A professional image library lets a builder or remodeling company show future clients the projects it wants more of. Kitchen renovations can help market kitchen renovations. Bathroom remodels can demonstrate experience with bathroom projects. Custom details can become examples during conversations with prospective clients. Over time, photographing completed projects creates a portfolio based on the company’s actual work rather than generic imagery.
