Self-Portrait with a Mazda3 and a dog!

Self-portrait of myself, Kiki and the new Mazda3! - Nikon D300 with Tamron 17-50mm tripod mounted @ f/11 1/320th ISO 200 - Strobist: SB-800 in 43" brolly to frame right

Recent circumstances forced me to have to get a new car when I was absolutely not expecting to have to do so.  This led to me owning a Mazda3 which I have taken a quick liking to and actually feel a little proud of!  So I thought let's make a new portrait of all us together.

Can you find Kiki in this photo and see how thrilled she was to not be going inside our family friend's house? - Nikon D300 with Tamron 17-50mm tripod mounted with cable release @ f/11 9-bracket HDR ISO 200

The location is a family friend's very nice house in Cape Coral.  If you look carefully in the photo above you will be able to find Kiki and see she is not exactly thrilled to only be hanging out in the driveway, and not exploring inside as she has done before when visiting this family friend!

After making a few HDR shots of the Mazda3 itself, I setup for a self-portrait and even got Kiki to come on over (see top photo).  It was a simple setup with my Nikon on a tripod with the timer set to 10 seconds and a single speedlight in a brolly just off to the side to help with exposure, especially for Kiki's black fur.
