A Beginner-Friendly Photography Class
This class is designed specifically for beginners who want to move beyond Auto mode and feel confident using their camera. You do not need prior experience with manual settings. The class is small, hands-on, and paced to make learning feel approachable and supportive.

You have a DSLR or mirrorless camera but mostly shoot in auto mode
Manual mode feels confusing or intimidating

What you will learn
Over three classes, you will learn:
Jason’s simple 5-step process for shooting in manual mode
How to get sharp, well-exposed photos in different lighting
Easy composition techniques for better photos right away
By the end of this class, you will understand how to control your camera instead of guessing. You will know how to adjust your settings with confidence and be making photos that are properly exposed, in focus, and eye catching!

About Your Instructor
Jason Collin is a professional photographer based in Pacific Grove and has been teaching photography since 2009. He has helped hundreds of people learn how to use their cameras with confidence. His 5-step manual shooting process was developed through years of real-world photography, including time spent living and photographing on the streets of Tokyo, Japan.
Jason’s teaching style is relaxed, clear, and encouraging, with an emphasis on practical understanding.
Class Details
• Dates: February 17th, 24th, and March 3rd
• Time: Tuesdays, 6:00–7:30pm
• Location: Pacific Grove Art Center, 568 Lighthouse Ave
• Cost: $150 total for all three classes
DSLR or mirrorless camera required. Phone cameras are not supported for this class.
This class runs best with a small group. If minimum enrollment is not met, you will be notified and fully refunded.
