9 Month Aerial Drone Photo Project in Placitas New Mexico

I was contacted about a very interesting aerial drone photography project in Placitas, New Mexico, which is about 30 minutes north of Albuquerque. Cindy & Jeff are building a custom home on undeveloped desert land and wanted a photo story of this process over the 9 months or so it will take to go from land to completed home. I was very glad they chose me as their drone pilot for this project as I will enjoy going out to their beautiful land in Placitas throughout the next 4 seasons documenting with aerial drone photography both how their homesite changes, and also the surrounding natural landscape and the Sandia Mountains standing boldly in the background.

Drone Video for Authentic Branding in New Mexico

Barb & Dr. Norm are long time photography clients and networking friends here in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Recently they become drone video clients as well and I got to visit their home in Corrales! They wanted a drone video for branding that showcased both their personalities and their lifestyle. Well, their personalities are fun and quirky, and their lifestyle is very natural and healthy. As you can see in the drone video above, we captured both! One of my all time favorite drone shots is the clip of them lying on their backs by the fish pond and the drone just slowly spiraling up while the fish (very cooperatively) swim around.

Modern Headshot in Albuquerque for your About Page to land clients

Having a headshot on your website gets more clients

In asking for feedback from a client about why that client chose me, among the multiple reasons given, the one that stood out to me was because I had a picture of myself on my website. This is the exact advice I give to many people I meet at networking events that have, to me, anonymous websites without their photo and sometimes even without their name anywhere on the site. If I meet you in person, I will go to your website later to follow up and seeing a modern, professional headshot helps me remember who I was talking to. If we have never met and I am seeking out a service or product, seeing the face of the actual person behind that business makes a big difference to me personally. I believe this is especially if your job involves working with people. People want to see who they will be working with, hiring, making a purchase from. This is one of many reason why having a modern, professional headshot is not only critical, but also the best value in marketing and branding there is!

Exploring Rural Rio Rancho via Land Real Estate Photography

Spectacular Rio Rancho Desert Sunsets

It had been some time since I was in the high desert of northwest rural Rio Rancho, New Mexico. Thankfully I was presented with a fantastic sunset. In fact, I went to three different rural land real estate properties this time, so you can see multiple sunset views. I also like to get detail photos for clients rather than just all wide open landscape photos. Below you can see cactus and flora from the high desert, as well just how far away Albuquerque is from this seemingly nearby desert If you want to own this land, contact Hemingway Land Company.

Going for details with car show photography in Albuquerque

To my surprise the car show featured at Albuquerque Summerfest 2019 was much bigger than I expected. As with most car shows, get photos of entire cars is a challenge due to people walking all around the cars, so as is my usual custom, I focus on getting detail shots, this time with my trusty 50mm f/1.8 lens. In the lead photo I cleaned up the background removing a few people to leave a clean shot of the front of a powerful yellow 427 balanced by the double center white line passing through the bottom of the frame. I look for contrasting lines, with the double white and then the black stripe on the car.

Stunning Las Cruces New Mexico Sunset 4K Drone Video & Aerial Photos

Beautiful Isolated Las Cruces Desert

Out on assignment for Hemingway Land in Las Cruces, New Mexico, miles of dirt road took me to an isolated, but beautiful rural desert real estate property with great views of the Organ Mountains. In fact mountains highlighted the views to the west and the north as well. I was actually right in this same remote section of desert in May for another even harder to reach property. I was relieved to discover the washed out road with deep ruts was now mostly filled in with chalky dirt that covered myself and my Jeep nearly entirely. I had to be extra careful to keep my cameras and my drone clean!

Changing Desert Road Jeep Adventures

On a recent rural land real estate photo trip to Las Cruces I returned to an area I was in just six weeks earlier. Reaching that rural land property was some of the hardest offroad driving I have had to do in New Mexico. Checking the maps I knew the recent property would require the exact same troublesome washed out, dirt road. However, the desert is an ever changing landscape and this time the road was totally different. Gone were the washed out foot wide gaps, filled in by a chalky sand. This became its own hazard as the chalky sand was inches deep and I had to switch to “sand” traction mode to get through the deeper sections!
